(NO ALCOHOL IS AVAILABLE FOR SALE ON SITE)
Always bring insect repellent, warm clothes (especially for the kids) as they will want to go paddling and as the evening air moves in, the temps drop a little. A beach type foldable seat is handy, or if you’re happy to rough it, a picnic blanket. You are welcome to bring your own food and refreshments. We do not do bag searches. As a family event we ask that you all act responsibly. Assistance is available at the green room where you will find the site administrator should you encounter any problems.
First Aid will also be available at the green room. Just ask security or staff.
We would appreciate you being tidy Kiwis and removing all rubbish to bins provided. Our small committee work very hard to put this event on for the benefit of the Community, however, we are not rubbish collectors. Please assist with this, and keep the park pristine for use the following day by park visitors.
Gold Coin Donations
During the event collectors will be available to accept your gold coin donation. This is voluntary and should only be given to collectors with identified buckets and uniforms. Please give generously where possible as all donations go to the “Key To LIfe Charitable Trust” who under the direction of Mike King, are dedicated to reduce the incidence of “Suicide” A growing problem affecting all New Zealanders.
Information and resources are available on site should you require more information, or know of someone who could use some help. The Key To Life Charitable Trust has loads of resources available to assist.
Sunblock will be available free onsite, provided courtesy of the wonderful people at “Avon”
Parking is free and available on the park adjacent to the venue. Please ensure no valuables are left visible in your vehicle. Security will be present in the car park during the event.
Disabled parking will be available within a short distance to the stage area. Approximately 50- 100 metres Gentle egress with the odd few bumps.
Disability toilet facility on site.
We do ask that parents keep their children away from directly in front of the speakers and off the stage unless invited up.
The sound system puts out up to 40,000 watts of music power. This could be damaging to young ears if they are directly in front of speakers.
These are your kids therefore your responsibility. We strive for a safe family environment and ask you to assist us.
The lighting theme for the concert is “Glow”
There will be a lot of UV/Black Light in the main auditorium and on stage. This enhances the stage design, as well as the glow paint on the faces of kids. This is not harmful however, it can in some cases make white synthetic fabric a little see through. Just a consideration ladies should be aware of.
Portaloos will be onsite for your convenience.
We are aware that as darkness falls, these can be a little hard to encounter. We will supply a portable lamp outside each toilet for your convenience.
Please Please Please return these to where you located them when finished, so that others can also take advantage of the secure light. Darkness can be intimidating for children going to the toilet and let’s face it folks, we must protect our kids. Removal from site will be regarded as theft and dealt with accordingly. Upper Hutt City Of Song Charitable Club Inc is just that and as such has no regular flow of income. We rely solely on our generous funders and supporters to stage this event. Therefore if these go missing, we are not able to replace them. Again let’s do the responsible thing for the benefit of the whole Community.
In the past, crowd numbers have exceeded 8,000 people.
Weather permitting, this year should be no different. The committee, the artists and the sponsors have all done their part to make this event a huge success. Now we ask you to do the same. We are promoting the event over the greater Wellington area including, Wellington City, Lower Hutt, Wainuiomata, Porirua, Paraparaumu, Levin, and the Wairarapa. Great attendances create great events. Let’s make this an epic event. You have one of the best talent lineups NZ has to offer and it’s affordable. Don’t just bring a friend, bring 5 friends. They will thank you for it. Let’s go for a record number in the park lets hit 10,000 . We have done our part to ensure this concert retains it’s legacy, and remains an Annual event, it’s up to you now. What could be better than?
- chilling out in the open,
- refreshments in the chilly bin,
- food in the chilly bin,
- food available on site,
- easy access,
- free parking,
- free sunblock
- free bouncy castle for kids
- free facepainting (Glow)
- disabled parking
- and some of New Zealand’s best talent on stage. Does it get any better?
One last thing…….
This is a family event catering to all members of the Community
Please remember, you are the role models for any kids present.
The small print…………
Unruly or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated in any form. Any aggressive or disruptive people will be removed from the site and dealt with by police. We have had a clean record since prior to year 2,000 which has allowed this event to continue. We would take a very dim view of any person, that would put that clean record in jeopardy and spoil it for others in the future. (this inserted to comply with Health and Safety regulations).
