Tapping into the urban-bohemian feel of their home town Wellington, and drawing on the many different styles and influences of band members past and present; No Sudden Movements’ music is a unique blend of folk, rock, jazz fusion, punk, pop and reggae. Described as “Power Pop” and “Melodic Rock”, the overall vibe is definitely rock, but with those delicate singer-songwriter undertones. No Sudden Movements just want to take you higher, with their uplifting lyrics, stunning melodies, and extremely catchy hooks.
With each different incarnation of the band, the sound has evolved and developed further, which has added to the richness and complexity of their music. Wrapping up 2019 by making it through to the National Final of Battle of the Bands, plans for 2020 include getting creative and writing together as a band, lots more gigs, and of course – recording!!
